I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University and am a current Psychoanalytic Candidate at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.
I am a 500 hour Certified Yoga Teacher, studied Musical Theater at NYU and worked in both theater and film in Los Angeles and New York before shifting gears toward a therapeutic focus. I’ve worked clinically in school, hospital and agency settings both in the United States and abroad.
Areas of focus/Specialties:
I have a special interest in gender, sexuality and relationships. My yoga training allows for an understanding of the body, and how feelings manifest themselves physically (and how to “un-stick” ourselves both physically and emotionally). I’m interested in understanding with each patient their family, both born and chosen, and how familial dynamics influence one’s independence and sense of peace.
I consider myself a warm, grounded listener, whose main concern is for the patient to feel absolutely comfortable and safe. Through conversation, reflection, and the unique relationship I build with each patient, my goal is to help one better understand oneself and build a life and relationships that are enlivening and enriching.
Mindfulness, Breathwork, and Gestalt Body awareness techniques are all in my toolbox. I work from a relational perspective and will shape my approach based on patient need.
